Mapua CPE Students Triumph in 2016 National CPE Challenge
A group of students from Mapua Institute of Technology grabbed first runner up in the recently concluded programming competition segment of the 2016 National CPE Challenge. The CPE exclusive organization, Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines held its first ever 2016 National CPE Challenge this last November 24, 2016 in Cagayan De Oro City. The event was composed of three main competitions namely: Programming, Breadboarding, and Quiz Bowl.
The National Capital Region was represented by the teams from Mapua and from FEU Institute of Technology in the programming event. The members of the Mapua team were Jim Ilejay, Gabriel Abel, and Rowick Legaspi. They competed against 12 different schools representing the champion teams from the different regions of the country. The team from FEU Institute of Technology took home gold medal and the championship trophy while the team from Notre Dame College of Tacurong got the second runner up trophy and bronze medal. The Mapua team brought home the first runner up trophy and silver medal. Mapua also represented the National Capital Region in the Breadboarding and Quiz Bowl categories of the 2016 National CpE Challenge.
